“”FACEBOOKIANS“”

Facebook has now started to be a formal and informal part of one’s life. It starts with one getting up in the morning, to occasional breaks at college or work, to dinner and finally with a goodnight. How many notifications have I got? How many messages have people sent me? Are there more likes on my picture than my “FRIENDS” display picture? Oh My God!! My crush just commented on my picture. You may be thinking how rightly it has been pointed out by me. But there are also a set of people also who are not so addictive about the social networking; those set of people are the one’s who don’t have an internet connection at their home to log on or work on. Anyways not talking about the non facebookians there are like non residential citizens. LOL.

A place where you can find all type of stereotypes is “facebook”. Ranging from racism to gender castism all you find under one shadow of “Facebook”.
Ok let’s put up an example: You put a status. If you a girl, just for putting a stupid “HI!” there would be hordes of guys and girls flocking on your status replying and liking it. On the contrary, if you belong to the opposite sex then man; I must say you are going to get neglected forever and the private messages will start about how stupid your statuses are and how jobless you are. There are a certain few of my friends who just remain offline; like a tiger waiting for its prey. Just for the right moment to come online and pounce on any new gal entering the network with a nice display picture. Its fun to notice at times that, they end up hitting on some random crackpot guy created a fake profile of a girl only to serve such stupid people. Adding on, I would certainly love to show the person who says girls are not given value and respect, the magic that happens on facebook. Here it all seems to be a girl’s thing….

Anyways that’s just one side that I have spoken about; let’s see it in a broader outlook. Facebook has turned out to be second home for people. Some have truly lost the meaning of their lives due to social networking aspect. Adding up relatives on your family tree and some blocking them from their friend list. So that their family don’t know what they up to. What sense does it make for you to bock them or add them, if in reality can’t accept them in your life. Some do it just because there friends are doing the same. Let me tell you, friends should be on your virtual network but always keep your family a part of your real network. Facebook is just a page on the internet not a real life or world to be trusted.

I had once put up a status with regards to love. Spontaneously, I was bombarded with personal messages and comment asking for whom the update was or why did I put it up and so on. I don’t get it; I just felt a few words passing in my mind and I uploaded it on the social network inconsiderate of how will people react to it. But then, this shows how much people have become dependent on the network trusting anything they see on the network, they assume it to be true in life. I ridicule and laugh at such narrow minded people, just because these people have peanut sized brains, they trust anything. Seriously!!

But one thing is certain; people have proved out their talent in the field of photography. Every now whenever people take a photograph, they think of Facebook first and then whether the photo would be a good one or not. Most of the online photo editing software have seen a rise in downloads or being used. So all application developers, let me tell you a little secret; if you want to or not getting any idea what software will people use the most then here it is. Create a photograph editing tool. And see your name grow with time, but don’t forget the regular updates for the same. Even if the update doesn’t make a big difference, just the change in the application version number is enough to make people happy. Anyways I have to say that finally people are trying hard with photography and I have been able to notice some really great snaps. And this good in a way because with time and experience people have been able to enhance their hobby and some have got an objective in life and a certain few lucky bunch get reputed for the same. So kudos to it.

    “”FACEBOOKIANS””

Oh yeah facebookians!!! is just a new named coined by me. It sounds cool also so it should be fun using it at regular intervals. Privacy is a matter of utmost importance, when we talk about social networks. Randomly adding people would be fun with respect to building up your friend list, but then it can have a side effect also like the so called new “FRIEND” of yours has easy access to all your online information and downloading it is also not a big deal. I remember back then during the time of “orkutting” {orkut was a social network portal hosted by google before the rise of facebook} people always lived in a frenzy, that if we upload any of our pictures then people may make pornography of it by morphing our images. Currently people are not scared of it when they ought to see everyday image updates of celebrity being morphed and uploaded on the network. They like it and share it. Never might have it ever crossed their minds, that the same can happen to them if needed. So when you update your personal pictures try editing it a bit, so as not to be modified later by a third entity. And “ADD” only the certain bunch of few people, whom you have personally met at least once.

The bridge between the worlds has become smaller due to facebook. People chat across the world and share thoughts, fall in love, do weird stuffs that I needed not point out and the most important they communicate. I personally have a friend in Mexico; with whom I chat with almost daily. We talk about what’s new in each others place and life. Its good way to understand the world on a large scale and even if you can’t travel to those places you have good description about it. Provided you have a right friend to trust on.

“Pokes” have yet been a thing I love to do the most. It’s like a competition you have set up to prove, who is fast and how much stamina and patience you have. But in reality it’s just a tool to show that, you were online and though we don’t chat, I like to be in contact with you virtually poking you. Maybe with time facebook will organize a worldwide poking festival for all serial pokers.

Anyways I can talk a lot more so on, but then that’s all for my post on facebookians. If I have missed on anything do comment on it; I will certainly write it up in my next post.
