MY Story…………

My first step in Mumbai. Standing at the CST station, with total strangers all around, bustling and pushing each other. Is there any familiar face around me to help me, direct me to my destination? Oh! Sorry I didn’t introduce myself. I am Vivek.

          Vivek Rathod.

Let me tell you about myself. I completed my BCA i.e. Bachelors in Computer Application from Pune university. Dropped down to Mumbai to complete my MCA i.e. Masters in Computer Application. That’s a jist about me and more I will tell you as soon as the time and need comes. OH! My brother is here to take me home. My temporary residence for the time, till I can find a permanent stay in town for the next 3 years of my MCA.
First day in college. Wearing formals for the first time in life. I am looking like a douche bag seriously. I hate it. Why are people staring at me? Am I looking so weird? Is he laughing at me? Leave it. My seniors directed to the auditorium for the induction ceremony.
Seated amongst first year students, so called classmates. Guessing whom should I make my friends and whom my enemies so that I don’t get bashed up badly. LOL. I am searching for a pretty face, a cute and sweet girl, if possible in order to forget my past fucking bitch. Now I know as most of my current friends you must be curious to know about my past; but sorry as I kept my foot on the ground of Mumbai, I pledged to drop my past into the past.
The induction started as thought with boring sessions by the faculty and the college head and chairperson. Phewwwwwwww. What boring to expect more now. Drowsy I fall off to sleep only to hear my name being called out. Who is it?? Why am I being called?? Did the chairperson see me sleeping?? Great what more to expect to gain attention on the first day. Turned out of sleep I look around the room. Its devoid of all the faculty and its just the seniors.

Got it! Time to get ragged; as seen in movies. I am asked to put on a body show and thanks to being of the size 0 category I didn’t find much trouble showing off my body unlike some of my fellow fat classmates trying to protect their skin show and honor on the 1st day getting raped. All of them had a hearty laughter but I noticed someone, a sweet smile like something I dream off. A perfect face someone couldn’t forget if seen once. Like people say butterflies are flying in my stomach and the first time I felt it now. WEIRD.
I am happy I am being noticed. Thank you! Seniors. Thanks a lot half of my work is done….

MUMBAI vs PUNE ( PART 1 )

You already probably reading the document might assume that maybe what I am going to write is about some IPL match that happened in the past two years between the two cities but then if your other side selected that it’s a review about the two cities then you are right. You need a pat on yourself for that good work.

So let me start, my trip to city of pune was totally unexpected and sudden so I wasn’t prepared totally or to be truthful I wasn’t prepared at all actually. I had planned to go to the palace and stay at my dad’s friend’s place with my dad and sis but due to some certain undesirable reasons they had to go off to Kerala. So the plan of staying over in the city and checking out seem to be distant dream. But I wasn’t ready to get back after reaching so far and so close to pune. One thing was certain that if I didn’t get or make use of my opportunity to stay in the city some how this time then may be never will I get one ever.

I was still in a place called Talegaon not far actual Pune city but still it’s not the city right. Talegaon is similar to Mumbai’s outskirt place like stations beyond Badlapur in central line or Vasai in western. To get to Talegaon I had catch a local from Lonavala station to pune city and mind it there is only one train every hour so if you miss one then man you got to wait for an entire hour to get on to the next local.

Anyways I was done with Talegaon by evening 7pm and on the way to pune city excited and happy that I am going to get to spend a night alone for the first time in my life and that to in a place totally unknown to me.  Man it was just going to be awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!. Geared with my camera standing at the station Talegaon for the local to arrive I wasted literally about 45 mins because the train wasn’t ready to arrive on due to track clearance. Finally boarded the train to wait for another 15 mins just because another fast express train had to pass by. Seriously it’s irritating just because there is a single track for both the locals and the express. So the puny local trains are always made to wait for the express to pass by. Anyway the train started and I reached Pune station at around 9pm and that was a tiring journey. Met a guy, actually a student so spoke to him through out the way to know the city better.

So then I got down met my friend at station who arranged for my accommodation for the night but I had to have my dinner before bunking. So after a bit of searching for a restaurant to eat, found one and ordered a thali. But seriously it rotted and tears rolled down my eyes, thinking how great Mumbai’s food was and I can get anything, anywhere, anytime I need not worry. Anyways having it I moved on to get a bus that would take me to the place called as S.B Road, Pune. Its just 10pm and I cant get a single rick or a bus right in front from the Pune station which would never happen in any part of Mumbai right. Finally got a rick and had to pay him a whopping amount of 70 rs jus for a 30rs traveling anyways it was a something better than nothing so had to take it. Reached the place and visited a multiplex at 11pm in the night the first late night show in my life ever. And one thing that I noticed was that the tickets were really cheap compared to what you would have to pay in Mumbai for that time of the show that to on a weekend. Got out of the theatre at 2am and the city holds a deserted look as expected. On enquiring with my friend I came to know that this is the most happening place in the city. Ha-ha in Mumbai the most happening place always has people roaming around and fast vehicles passing by.

Talking more and roaming around in the night I get to know that the people in the city talk in kms and not in mins or hours. Maybe you didn’t get it, ok for example if some asks you how far is Vashi to CST. A mumbaikar would say its about an hour from Vashi whereas if you as the same to a punekar who knows mumbai would reply it is about 30 kms. Now you got the vital difference between a mumbaikar and a punekar. Finally its 3am and a good time to take refuge on the bed settled up for me at my friends room.

That’s for the Part 1 if you think I should continue then may be I will go into the part two. That’s the last final day I mean J

More fun and more discoveries to follow.
